Spring is in the air and with that, the elementary spring concert was presented Tuesday evening, April 26, in the school auditorium. Along with vocal selections from each class, the third graders played their recorders together and the sixth grade band performed. The older grades also played ukuleles during their songs. The Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department held their annual Spring Daze craft and vendor show on Saturday, April 9, at the Prairie Winds Community Center. The free event, which proceeds the Volunteer Fire Department, hosted 65 vendors including crafts, home décor, beauty products, books, woodworking, soaps, foods, sweet treats, and pet adoptions.

Parents held tight to their children and people clutched their mail as they left the post office and fought to get their car doors open. With garbage bins tossed about, trash and tree branches strewn in every direction, and the downtown nearly deserted, folks were generally fed up with it as the Nebraska wind wreaked havoc all over Bridgeport last week.

School Board desires input on college class funding

The Bridgeport Board of Education held its regular meeting on April 11th, 2022, at 7 PM in the HS Library. In action items the board accepted a letter of resignation from Mrs. Rylee Blomenkamp effective at the end of this school year. Mrs. Blomenkamp has been teaching Kindergarten. The board approved a teaching contract for Mrs. Dana Morgan for the next school year. Mrs. Morgan will teach Kindergarten. She has taught that age group for many years but recently has been the elementary principal at Leyton. The administration reported on the following items:
