Freddy Allen Steffensmeier, 71

Freddy Allen Steffensmeier, 87, of Bridgeport, Nebraska, passed away the evening of February 2, 2024, at the Morrill County Community Hospital with his good friend, Justin Loomis, by his side.

He was born December 14, 1936, in Bayard, Nebraska, to Fred and Mable Steffensmeier. He was the youngest of 9 children.

Freddy was the All-Round Winner of the Camp Clark Stampede Rodeo in Bridgeport, winning in saddle bronc, bareback, and bull riding. He was one of the great, true cowboys.

He was extremely close to his sister,Wilma Jean Snider, who passed away in 2022, and his niece, Debi Snider Matchen. No matter where they were, he and Debi never missed talking together every Saturday night promptly at 6:00 p.m.This continued until the Saturday prior to his death.

He will truly be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Freddie is survived by his nieces, Debi Snider Matchen of Casper,WY, and Jolene Snider Tjaden of Grand Island, NE; and many more nieces and nephews.
