The Prairie Winds Community Center tried something new out at the golf course earlier this month when they hosted a youth golf tournament. Two brackets were offered, a seven- and eight-year-old contest, and a nine- and ten-year-old competition, playing five holes of golf.

Fifteen children took part in the event, with their parents coaching alongside them. In the seven-eight bracket, there was a tie for first place between Tayson Schwager and Kayden Fisher, so they went to a random hole score; Kayden won out and Tayson took second place.Third place went to Ryan Noonan.

In the older group, Luke Plummer took first place, Myla Panas, second, and Ellie Schmidt third. All of the kids enjoyed a nice hot dog lunch and ice cream for a post-tournament meal.
