It’s been a busy couple of weeks for the Bridgeport Bomber senior and junior legion baseball teams. Both squads played multiple games against higher-class competition.
The Bomber juniors recorded their first victory of the season by beating Mitchell 9-2 last week in Alliance. After plating three runs to grab the early lead, Bridgeport tacked on six more runs in the fourth to put the game away.
Kaden Shultz and Cody Bates led the offense with two hits each. Shultz scored two runs and knocked one in. Bates finished with a triple, a run scored, and two runs batted in. Conner Posey and Ray Roberts both scored a run and had a hit. Taylor Eichthaler and Ryker Norman both scored a run and drew a pair of walks.
