The summer reading program at Bridgeport Public Library has wrapped up for the season. This year’s theme was “All Together Now,” with a focus on friendship, kindness, and working together.
The preschoolers enjoyed dancing, reading, and talking out ways to be kind and caring to our friends. The early elementary groups did the same and made love bug clips to clip on their friends. They also painted kindness rocks for hiding around town and worked together to keep an aired-up balloon from touching the ground. Finally, they built balloon towers with tape. Attendees in grades 4th-8th grade used recycled items and cardboard to build working arcade games.
The teens have been collaborating on a Dungeons & Dragons campaign since school ended this year. The rest of the summer programs have ended, but the teen program will continue throughout the summer.
