WNAC announces 2 new exhibits

West Nebraska Arts Center, with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and the National Endowment for the Arts is pleased to present two new exhibits this summer, as well as a series of creative arts classes.

West Nebraska Arts Center, with the support of the Nebraska Arts Council, the Nebraska Cultural Endowment, and the National Endowment for the Arts is pleased to present two new exhibits this summer, as well as a series of creative arts classes.

The 2023 President’s Show: History of the Oregon Trail, is an exciting collection of original artworks based on a theme chosen by Mary Hunt, West Nebraska Arts Center Board President. This is a judged group show open to all media and artistic styles, intended to inspire people to think about the Oregon Trail, what kind of life they would have lived or perhaps parts of the life that would have been seen during the Oregon Trail days. The artwork will be displayed June 29-July 30.

The 2023 OldWest Balloon Fest: Art in the Sky exhibit highlights the artistic value of regional artwork and its connection to the Panhandle through celebrations. The contest was open to all in the Panhandle Valley. All techniques, ages and skill levels were welcomed. The opening reception, open to all, will be Wednesday, July 19, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The show can be viewed through Sunday, August 27.
