Emergency snow route extended down 9th Street

The emergency snow route for Bridgeport was extended at the City Council meeting last Thursday night to include all of 9th Street from Main Street east to S. Street. This action is intended to accommodate the school drop off zone and make it safer for teachers, parents, and students. Emergency snow routes in Bridgeport are marked by blue and white signs with a white snowflake, requiring residents to remove their vehicles during a citywide snow emergency or risk being towed or plowed in. Residents are alerted by a phone call to a number registered with the city office.

Mayor Beyer appointed Braden Hubert as Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department’s Fire Chief; council approved.

Council assignments were also made, including Carrie Harless to oversee the golf course and Angie Clinger to oversee the city parks and Prairie Winds Community Center.
