Camp Clarke Stampede showcases top rodeo talent

It was another action-packed Camp Clarke Stampede Rodeo last week at Bridgeport’s Morrill County Fairgrounds.The annual event took place July 3-4 and once again featured many of the region’s top rodeo talent.

It was another action-packed Camp Clarke Stampede Rodeo last week at Bridgeport’s Morrill County Fairgrounds.The annual event took place July 3-4 and once again featured many of the region’s top rodeo talent.

Katie Haythorn of Arthur won the women’s all-around title and Gralyn Elkins of Wagoner, Okla., captured the men’s all-around honor. Both were presented buckles sponsored by Webb Eyecare and Kraupie’s Real Estate & Auctioneers.

Elkins cashed out in a pair of events. He finished third in mixed team roping with his partner Lakota Elkins. In the team roping, Elkins and his partner Justin Pruitt placed fourth. Haythorn also finished in the money in two events. She placed eighth in breakaway roping and finished fourth in mixed team roping with her partner Cord Haythorn.
