Property tax protests continue

The county commissioners heard many property tax protests on July 10th, with most decisions being made in favor of constituents.

The county will hold a public auction for county-owned property in Bayard.This sale will be for approximately 3 acres and will be held in person on the courthouse steps. Be on the lookout for the advertisement over the next few weeks in our legal notices.

In regard to the county- owned properties inside of Bayard city limits, the city has been doing the upkeep of these properties.The county has received a bill for $1000 for the mowing expense.The county intended to sell those properties to the City of Bayard for amount less than that and plans to discuss a trade of mowing fee for the lots.
