Playing in front of the home fans for the final time this season, the Bridgeport Bombers senior legion baseball team dropped a Class C doubleheader to the Sheridan County Regulators last Wednesday.
Sheridan County, comprised mainly of players from Gordon and Rushville, rallied to win the first game 9-6 before earning an 11-3 victory in game two.
The Bombers looked to be in good position to break into the win column after they built a 4-0 lead through four innings of the opener. Bridgeport ignited with three runs in the bottom of the first to grab an early 3-0 advantage. The big hit of the frame was a two-run single off the bat of Kaden Shultz.
