Crossroads Coop in Bridgeport is going above and beyond the typical Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards when, after two years of application and safety reviews, they were admitted into the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program, also known as SHARP, on Tuesday.
Management and employees gathered with SHARP representatives to celebrate this high achievement during an open house held at the Coop that morning.
According to Craig Knapp, Ag Services Safety Director, “How it works, we apply for them to come out and do a walkthrough inspection of the whole facility. Then they look at our policies and OSHA logs to see where we are with the national average on injuries and illnesses.”
