Bulldogs fall to Irish in season opener

For the second straight year, the Bridgeport High School football team played right with top-ten ranked North Platte St.

Patrick’s for a half before the Irish pulled away for a 48-12 win in the season opener last Friday night in North Platte.

In last year’s meeting, St. Pat’s led just 21-14 at halftime before outscoring the Bulldogs 30-0 in the final two quarters.This year it was Bridgeport holding the early lead, but the Irish ran off 34 points in a row to take command. Things couldn’t have started any better for the Bulldogs.
