Bridgeport welcomes home a former Bulldog, 2008 graduate Jase Dean, to the fifth-grade classroom. Dean was born and raised in Bridgeport, and, following graduation, attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. During his university days, Dean played football as a Nebraska Husker, and graduated with a bachelors in Fisheries and Wildlife in 2013. He is currently working towards obtaining his teaching certificate through the University of Nebraska-Kearney.
Since moving back to Bridgeport from Montana a few years ago, and in order to spend more time with his children, Dean filled in as a substitute teacher at Bridgeport school and enjoyed it, saying, “I got to work with a lot of different kids of all ages, and the relationships you start to build with them is awesome. Seeing them progress throughout the year was fun, and I wanted to be a part of that.”
As a newly minted fifth grade teacher, Dean feels the biggest challenge facing teachers today is all the technology and resources that do the work for a student, stating, “If you send something home, the kids have the option to use any device they may have to find ways to get out of the work that they need (to do).”
