The Bridgeport Bulldogs continued their winning ways over the rival Bayard Tigers with a 68-34 victory on the gridiron last Friday night in Bayard. In their last two matchups, the Bulldogs have out-scored the Tigers by a score of 133-54.
Peyton Abbott and Nik Weibert combined to score 10 touchdowns as the Bulldogs won their fourth straight game to improve to 4-2 on the season.Weibert, a sophomore quarterback, tossed a pair of touchdowns and ran in four more. Abbott, a senior running back, rushed for 385 yards and four touchdowns.
The game marked the fourth week in a row that Bridgeport’s offense has surpassed the 60-point mark. Following a couple of turnovers by the Bulldogs, Bayard actually moved out to a 14-6 lead in the second quarter.
