The Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs ended the Western Trails conference tournament in third place behind first place Bayard team, and second place Gordon-Rushville. The tournament was held this year in Bayard on Thursday last week. Mitchell, Morrill, Kimball and Hemingford also took part in the ten-game play.
In game one for Bridgeport, the Lady Bulldogs took out the Mitchell Tigers, two sets to none, 29-27 and 25-19. In a hard-fought battle over three sets, Bridgeport fell to Bayard two sets to one, winning the first set 25-17, before falling in the second two sets 25-21 and 25-19. In the 3rd place game, Bridgeport conquered Morrill in two sets, 25-11 and 25-14.
No individual statistics were available at press time. The Lady Bulls are 13-10 overall this season, and 1-3 in the district. They face off against Mitchell again tonight in the Tiger’s Den at 6:00 p.m. before finishing up the regular season at home on Tuesday, against Hay Springs.
