Lady runners place first at SPVA

Bridgeport cross country runners took to the road last Thursday when they travelled to Grant for the Southern Platte Valley Association conference meet. Kyra Robbins took first place overall when the Lady Bulldogs crushed the competition, the team taking first place in the tournament with all five ladies in a top ten spot.

Bridgeport cross country runners took to the road last Thursday when they travelled to Grant for the Southern Platte Valley Association conference meet. Kyra Robbins took first place overall when the Lady Bulldogs crushed the competition, the team taking first place in the tournament with all five ladies in a top ten spot.

Robbins ran the 5,000-meter race in 22:46, with teammates Taylor Bright and Elizabeth Velasquez less than a minute behind. Taking third, fourth, and fifth place were Bright at 23:13, Velasquez at 23:45, and Madison Ribble at 24:00. Samantha Hill finished seventh at 24:32.

In the men’s division, Ron Varner led the way for the Bulldogs, coming in 17th place at 19:15. Jose Arreola ran it in 20:36, Taylor Eichthaler at 20:41, Justin Dobrinski at 22:02, and Kyler Mills at 22:03.They took sixth place overall in the contest.
