George Leeper and JackWagoner were honored last Tuesday night at the Broadwater Village Hall with Quilts of Valor, presented by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 312 and Kathy Dye, Western Nebraska District Coordinator and the leader of the Nebraska Panhandle Block group.
According to their website, the mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor.
Leeper joined the United States Army in 1968 and was an MOS as an 11B10 and 11B20 Infantryman. His units included Company A, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry 199th Infantry Brigade and Company B, 5/31 Infantry, and the 197th Infantry Brigade at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
