The Leyton Lady Warriors battled their way towards the top of a four-game tournament on Saturday, ending up in the runner up spot behind champion team Bayard.The girls competed in the Minuteman Athletic Conference volleyball tournament, hosted in Bridgeport.
After beating out Creek Valley and Potter-Dix, the team fell to Bayard in the final matchup.
In the two-set win against the Storm, Leyton pummeled the competition with set wins 25-7 and 25-12. Claire Watchorn led the way with five kills, followed by Sydney Fortune, Riley Jones, and Trinity Beutler with four each. Shawnee gamble served up five aces, followed by Beutler with three and Fortune and Kaydence Haupt, each with one.
