Bridgeport’s volleyball season is over after a hard-fought battle on home court Monday night, where the Lady Bulldogs were routed by number four Gordon- Rushville in five long sets.

Bridgeport hosted the Nebraska School Activities Association Volleyball Subdistrict C1-12 contest since the Lady Bulldogs were the number one seed. Over the course of five sets, Bridgeport was on the short end of the scoreboard in the first two sets with scores of 24-26 and 17-25.The Lady Bulldogs were not about to give up that easily, and fought back to take the next two sets, 25-19 and 26-24.The final match, set to play to fifteen, saw the Lady Mustangs on top, 16-14, eking out the victory for the orange and blue.

Gordon-Rushville played the Chadron Cardinals on Tuesday night with the winner advancing to district play next week.
