Local man hired for fairgrounds property manager

Two applications were accepted for the property manager position at the Morrill County Fairgrounds with Ryan Patterson on hand for the interview.The contracted position offers $1,000 per month and the position will answer to the fair board and report to the county commissioners quarterly.The job will start on December 1, 2023; it comes with no insurance or county benefits. Patterson willingly accepted the position.

Discussion was held with Morrill County Extension worker Katelyn Rosas on the approval of the long-standing interlocal agreement between Morrill County and Scotts Bluff County with the University of Nebraska at Lincoln regarding the Extension Board.The agreement was last updated and approved in 1998; however, the new agreement does not include Scott Bluff County in the language.Therefore, the agreement was tabled until the next meeting, so that Scotts Bluff County could be included in the joint agreement.

There were no bids for the county-owned Ford Econoline van.The county will attempt to sell it privately to anyone for over $2,000.Tim Marquez thanked the county offices who participated in Operation Green Light.
