Opal is Statebound

Bridgeport repeats as district champions when they earned first place with their One Act play, “A Girl Called Opal,” in the District C1-6 contest held at Bridgeport on Monday this week. Other schools competing in districts here were Hershey, Amherst,West Holt, Mitchell, Gordon-Rushville, Perkins County, andValentine.

Outstanding actor and actress awards went to Claire Eckhardt, Kendal Deaver, Fallon DeBlois, Hanna Berry, Cassandra Hopwood, Katie Eckhardt, Adam Pence, Mara Soto, Paige Dalimata, Emilie Miller, Gaby Flores, and Anahi Sosa Barron. Overall conference actress award went to Emilie Miller for her performance as Opal.

In addition to sweeping the dual conference and district contests, Bridgeport’s Justin Dobrinski, Eden Strawn, Isreal C’Debaca, Zya Myers, MaKayla Smith, and DamianVanWorth won the Outstanding Technical Crew Award.
