Wrestling season is underway, and Bridgeport is off to a good start on the mats with meets competed this past week at Mullen, Southwest and Garden County.
In Mullen, the boys wrestling team took 3rd place overall, behind Anselmo-Merna and Bayard. Harrison Barnette placed first in the 157-pound bracket, pinning Crawford’s Colten Mader in 46 seconds in the 1st place match. Logan Dalimata, Taylor Eichthaler and Illias Lehman each placed third; James Jeffords and Ryker Norman took fourth.
Bridgeport Girls took first place in the Hemingford Season Opener. Twenty-six JV and varsity teams competed in the event. Morgan Amateis, Lilly Castillo and Hayden Marks each took a first-place spot, while Kyra Robbins took second and Jaden Mueller and Paige Dalimata took third. Robbins also placed third at Southwest.
