Giving Christmas event continues

Saturday was the sixth annual Giving Christmas event in Bridgeport, hosted by Heather Petersen and Jessica Schwager.

The anticipated event drew in scores of people to shop for holiday gifts and items for friends and family at the lowest price possible, zero dollars.

Dozens of hours go into planning the day, with set up and take down just the beginning. All throughout the year, Schwager and Petersen gather donated items and store them indoors. In November, they go through all the items, sorting them into like categories, and haul them to the site where the items are laid out on and underneath tables.
