Bridgeport High School basketball coaches Dave Kuhlen and Sean Sterkel both achieved milestones as their respective teams continued to pick up early- season wins on the hardwood this past week.
Kuhlen, who’s in his fifth season leading the Bulldog girls, earned his 400th career win as a head coach on Saturday when Bridgeport stayed unbeaten with an 82-57 victory at Chadron. He currently owns a 102-14 record at Bridgeport. Before coming to Bridgeport, Kuhlen guided the Wauneta-Palisade boys to 298 wins during his tenure there.
Sterkel, a Bridgeport High School graduate, went over the 100-win mark for his coaching career with a win against Hemingford on Dec. 8. In just his fourth season back here in Bridgeport leading the Bulldog boys, Sterkel is 60-25. He also picked up 42 wins coaching at Ainsworth before returning home.
