Leyton basketballers off to a good star t this season

With their wins over the Hemingford Bobcats last week, 62-22, and the Potter-Dix Coyotes 64-27, Leyton girls basketball team remains undefeated this season.The Lady Warriors are ranked first in D2 District 11 play.They have hosted three matches on home court and taken three games on the road as visitors and hope to go into Christmas break 7-0 after their game this week.

Zaili Benish has led the team in scoring over the past three games with a combined 75 points, ten assists, and fourteen steals. Shawnee Gamble added 38 points, six assists, five steals and five rebounds. Claire Watchorn added 30 points, Sydney Fortune, 34 points and five rebounds, and Riley Jones with eight points.

The boys basketball team is 2-3 overall, with last week bringing them a win over the Bobcats 48-34 and a loss to Potter-Dix, 39-50.The Warriors are ranked third in district play going into the next game.
