A 2022Year in Review graced the first two pages of the Bridgeport News-Blade, with snippets of events that happened throughout the year…Bridgeport girls and boys basketball teams closed out the 2022 portion of their schedule with a pair of road wins over Torrington on Thursday…District Court Judge Andrea Miller recited the oath of office with several county officials during a swearing in ceremony on Thursday, January 5, in the District Courtroom… Bridgeport School Board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Chuck Lambert, effective this summer. Board also approved raise for teachers… Art Club visits Denver Art Museum… Emergency snow route extended down 9th Street past school building…Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs 3-peat as SPVA champs, boys finish second place. Ruthie Loomis-Goltl sets a new scoring record…Warriors are MAC Champs, Lady Warriors are runner-up…Fifth graders at Bridgeport are pictured with their craft items, pieces to sell at the Market Day Fair… FFA Floriculture team qualifies for State…Panhandle Coop announces the Roy Chelf Employee of theYear Award, presented to Bryan Reimers by Jim Lapaseotes… Wyobraska basketball begins and the fourth, fifth and sixth grade teams for Bridgeport are featured as they host games at the school in Bridgeport this month… February

Bridgeport comes together to house a busload of stranded university students when what was supposed to be an organized potluck and overnight homestay turned into a two-night, threeday endeavor for those involved with the Doane Choir tour.The university students were to be housed with several area families overnight after their concert in Bridgeport Tuesday night. However, the wild winter weather rendered that plan useless when the snowfall that came overnight kept them longer than expected. As the morning wore on, new snow continued to fall, and it became clear that the musicians were not going to make it to Casper as planned that day and would need to stay overnight in Bridgeport again… Candy Lussetto received the Nebraska Hospital Association’s The Caring Kind Award and is pictured beside her daughters, Amy Daneff and Kate L’Heureaux… Innovation Day a success at Bridgeport High School when junior and senior high students moved from station to station throughout the morning, learning a little bit about several different prospects in the panhandle and across the state. Students were able to see what career paths and college opportunities are available in the area as well…Kyra Robbins and Hayden Marks wrestle at State…Lady Bulldogs 3-peat as WTC champs, boys finish third…Chase McGrath wins his 100th career win on the wrestling mat and is presented with a poster…Dawn Martin is announced as the new City Administrator for Bridgeport… School board offers current secondary principal George Schlothauer the superintendent contract…Ruthie Loomis-Goltl reaches 2,000 point milestone during the sub district final game against the Chase County Lady Longhorns last week, in her 101st game as a varsity Bulldog… March
