Bulldogs sweep WTC tournament crowns

For the second time this season, the Bridgeport basketball teams made a championship sweep of a conference tournament.

After claiming the titles of the South Platte Valley Association Tournament a couple weeks ago, the Bulldog hoopsters followed that up by winning the Western Trails Conference Tournament last weekend at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff.

The Lady Bulldogs, who remained undefeated by improving to 19-0, made school history with a WTC 4-peat under head coach Dave Kuhlen. After dominating Morrill 67-26 in the semifinals, they rolled to a 72-29 thumping of Bayard in the title game to capture their sixth WTC tournament crown overall, which is second only to Mitchell’s 13.
