Bridgeport was the site of the Western Trails Conference, South Platte Valley Association, Minuteman Activities Conference, and the combination PAC wrestling tournament last Thursday. The Bulldogs placed seventh overall out of seventeen teams, with 85 points.
Earning a first-place spot on the podium was senior Harrison Barnette, wrestling in the 157-pound division. After a bye in the first round, Barnette fell to Emilio Dimas of North Platte St. Pats at 3:47, Ryker Copeland of Sutherland in 51 seconds, and took out Wyatt Feddersen of Gordon-Rushville in 57 seconds to take the gold home. He is now 27-6 on the season.
Cole Katen took a thirdplace medal home at 215 pounds. He defeated Jesus Medina of Chase County in a 10-5 decision before falling to Theron Miller of Hemingford then defeating North Platte St. Pat’s Logan Dodson in a 5-1 decision. The Bridgeport junior is 22-13 on the season.
