On Saturday, February 24th, two Bridgeport 4-H Robotics teams participated in the First LEGO League Nebraska White Region Robotics Mini-Play. For many years, First Lego League has been a huge competition for youth ages 9-14 years old.

The Panhandle has had many teams competing in regional competitions hosted in Sidney or Scottsbluff. This year the regional competitions have been eliminated and only one statewide competition will take place in March in Lincoln. To take the place of regionals, smaller regions have been created to host mini plays in order for teams to learn from each other and compete on a smaller scale.

During the competition, youth use pre-coded robots to complete missions on a board of complex LEGO challenges.
