The Bridgeport and Leyton track and field teams fared well at the Bayard CD Invitational held last Thursday in Bayard.
A pair of Bulldogs captured top finishes in individual events. Cole Katen won the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.43 seconds to help the Bridgeport boys earn a third-place finish in the team standings.
After winning a pair of events during the season- opening meet in Morrill, Bridgeport senior Grace Dean added another top finish in Bayard by winning the shot put with a distance of 37 feet, 7 inches. She also placed fourth in the discus with a toss of 118-3. Dean’s points helped the Bulldog girls finish fifth as a team.
