Gabriela Flores, daughter of Lindsey Vasquez and Daniel Flores of Bridgeport and Katherine Eckhardt, daughter of Jennifer Eckhardt of Dalton, have been selected as 2024 Girls State Delegates.
Cornhusker Girls State will be held June 2-8, 2024 on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Flores and Eckhardt were selected based on selection criteria through the American Legion Auxiliary Jesse Snider Post Unit 312 of Broadwater.
Both girls are Juniors at Bridgeport High School. As delegates, they will study local, county and state government processes in this nonpartisan political learning experience. Every spring, the American Legion Auxiliary Girls State Program provides approximately 25,000 young women with a hands-on educational opportunity designed to instruct tomorrow’s leaders in the privileges and duties of responsible citizenship.
