The Bridgeport High School performed their spring play last week with the help of several elementary students and a one-woman crew. Directed by Kristen Kraupie and Regina Gonzalez, “The Fearsome Pirate Frank,” generated lot of laugher and applause from the audience.

Witty narrators, dressed as pirates, told the story of a theatre cast performing a pirate show being kidnapped by real pirates and taken aboard a ship. Prima donna Esmerelda is not happy with the living conditions or serving the actual pirates. Hilarity ensues, including the realization that the real pirate Frank is a woman, and in a flashback sequence, we see her send her crooked captain to walk the plank.

And no play would be complete without zombie pirates and fanny pack carrying blinged-out mermaids.
