Local student headed to American Legion Auxiliary Girls State

Lila McLaughlin of Dalton has been selected to attend American Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Girls State June 2-8, 2024, on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. McLaughlin was selected based on her application, scholarship, and interview with Mintken Davison American Legion Auxiliary Unit 301.

Lila McLaughlin of Dalton has been selected to attend American Legion Auxiliary Cornhusker Girls State June 2-8, 2024, on the campus of the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. McLaughlin was selected based on her application, scholarship, and interview with Mintken Davison American Legion Auxiliary Unit 301.

McLaughlin will study local, county and state government processes in this non-partisan political learning experience.

Every spring, the ALAL Girls State Program provides approximately 25,000 young women with a hands-on education opportunity designed to instruct tomorrow’s leaders in the privileges and duties of responsible citizenship.
