Morrill County and the state of Nebraska held their Primary Election onTuesday, May 13.With the unofficial results in, 1,143 Republicans, 129 Democrats, 6 Libertarians, 1 legal marijuana NOW, and 57 Nonpartisans, for a total of 1,336 citizens in Morrill County, took part in this primary election.
On the local ballot was an issue for the Redington Cemetery District to be able to levy $0.0045 per one-hundred dollars of taxable valuation in excess of limits prescribed by law for the fiscal years 2024-2025, 2025-2026, 2026-2027, 20272028, and 202802029. The issue passed with 21 votes for (72.41 percent) and 8 (27.59 percent) votes against the issue.
On the national scene, Donald Trump carried the Republican ticket in the race to win the nomination for Presidency with 1,027 votes, followed by Nikki Haley with 78 votes. On the Democratic side, Joe Biden won with 87 votes over Dean Philips with 31 votes.
