City buys property from Waste Connections

The Bridgeport City Council held a hearing on Monday, May 13, to hear comments from the public on the purchase of 501 J Street and ancillary properties from Waste Connections, Inc.

The Bridgeport City Council held a hearing on Monday, May 13, to hear comments from the public on the purchase of 501 J Street and ancillary properties from Waste Connections, Inc.

Mayor Beyer said the reason for the purchase was to consolidate city equipment and work areas in one place. The city plans to renovate or construct buildings to house everything.

The purchase price would be $316,000, including real estate valued at $30,000 owned by the city at 8th and K Street.
