The Bayard American Legion Hall was the site for the awarding of three Quilts of Valor to Morrill County veterans. Panhandle Blocks Quilt of Valor members Kathy Dye, Mary Beth Mau, and Robin Stefka, and Bayard American Legion Auxiliary representative Diane Kraus participated in the presentation.
Phil Found provided music prior to the ceremony and Angie Hoff sang the National Anthem at the start of the presentation. American Legion Riders Danny Stefka and Jody Buskirk stood in a flag line for the ceremony, flanking the recipients.
Phil Found was born and raised in Waukesha,WI. He attended college for a few years but his grades were so bad that his brother warned him he could get drafted because there was a war in Vietnam. He told Phil to become a helicopter pilot so that’s what Phil did.
