The Bridgeport Bombers senior legion baseball team stepped up its competition level against the Class A WESTCO Zephyrs this past Sunday at Cleveland Field in Scottsbluff.
The Class C Bombers battled strongly in both games of the doubleheader before falling 10-2 in game one and 12-1 in the second game.
Bridgeport struck first in its first at-bat when Nik Weibert singled and Holden Shultz walked. Both scored on a Kaden Shultz single to give the Bombers a quick 2-0 lead.WESTCO answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning to knot the score before going in front for good with a run in the second.
