Around 400 cowboys and cowgirls competed for prize money in 10 different events during this year’s Camp Clarke Stampede Rodeo held July 4-5 at Bridgeport’s Morrill County Fairgrounds. Plenty of the entries were from right here in the Panhandle and many enjoyed success.
Bridgeport’s Jayda From shared a second-place finish with Creighton’s Madden Doerr in the breakaway roping. From clocked a time of 2.6 seconds to pocket a check for $1,739. Catherine Clayton of Dublin, Texas, won the event with a time of 2.5 to take home $2,162.
Scottsbluff’s Tate Talkington won the tie-down roping title. Talkington, who competes for Eastern Wyoming College during the school year, finished first with a time of 8.9. He won a check for $1,188.54.
