Spartans too strong for Bombers

In action on the home field for the last time this season, the Bridgeport Bombers dropped a pair of junior and senior legion baseball games to the Class B Alliance Spartans last Tuesday evening. Alliance claimed the junior contest by a score of 11-0 and the Spartans also prevailed in the senior game by a score of 16-3.

Prior to the action, the Bombers’ three senior players were honored for their years of service to the program.They were Holden Shultz, Chris Loyd, and Jake Paschke. All three were presented with awards.

In the junior game, Alliance plated a pair of runs in the top of the second inning and then broke things open by scoring nine runs in the third to build an 11-0 lead. The Bombers were held to just one hit, which came off the bat of Cody Bates. Bates also recorded a stolen base. Kaden Shultz and Ryker Norman both drew walks.
