City approves a 30 MPH speed limit for Recreation Road

At their regular meeting on Monday, the Bridgeport City Council passed an ordinance, waiving the three reading rule, to set the speed limit on Recreation Road at 30 miles per hour.

The council held the second reading of the proposed ordinance that would make property owners responsible for unpaid delinquent charges for water or electric service.The proposal was advanced to final reading status.

The mayor, council and Michelle Coolidge discussed proposed changes to the application and information that will be provided to citizens who request a building permit.They are getting close to having a finished package that will include a checklist and copies of the relevant city code, including the potential need for curb and gutter, depending on the project.
