District to unveil a new app for use by families and community members

The Bridgeport Board of Education held their regular meeting on August 12th, 2024 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school library with all board members present. The consent agenda, which included approval of minutes, financial reports, bills and payroll, was approved unanimously. Paul Strommen, candidate for Nebraska Legislature, was present and inquired about issues and concerns the board had for the future of education in Nebraska.

There were four action items voted on by the board. They approved the Preschool student handbook, the 24-25 Superintendent Contract, the Secondary Eligibility Policy unanimously. A second reading of the updated and new board policies was approved, advancing them to final reading. These policies included: 3001, 3003.1, 3033, 3036, 4003, 4045, 4059, 5003, 5004, 5035, 5045, 5049, 5062, 3059, 5062, 6003, 6004, and 6025.

Mrs. Reynolds, Mr. Simmons and Mr. Blanco presented the new teacher evaluation model. The Supporting Educator Effectiveness through Development (S.E.E.D) model is a change from the top down model to one of systems and support for teachers.
