Pastor’s Column

I identify as a conservative Christian, a politically conservative voter, a conservative husband, a conservative father. Many who read this paper will also identify as “a conservative.” But what is a conservative? Right there in the name we see the word “conserve.”

So, to be a conservative means that there must be something that has been passed down to you that you are trying to protect, trying to keep the same, trying to conserve.

Much about our culture is worth conserving. I’m new here, but already in this community in particular I’ve noticed an overwhelming generosity and thoughtfulness.
