Morrill County veterans receive Quilts of Valor

Six veterans were awarded a Quilt of Valor in a ceremony on September 6 during Chimney Rock Pioneer Days in Bayard.

Tom Randall was born in Omaha to Jim and Bonnie (Stewart) Randall. He was raised and educated and Bayard and in March of 1976 he enlisted in the United States Army. After basic at Fort Dix New Jersey, he was assigned to Germany, where he was the personal driver for Brigadier General George Bailey, Adjutant General of the Fifth Army Corps, Frankfurt, Germany. Randall was honorably discharged in February of 1976 returning to Bayard, where he started working with his dad’s flooring installers.

He later started his own company, Tom’s Flooring, and recently retired after 35 years of installing all types of flooring.
