The Bridgeport football team couldn’t maintain the momentum of a fast start in a 40-8 loss to Dundy County-Stratton in the Bulldogs’ home opener last Friday night.
After Bridgeport took a quick 8-0 lead early in the opening quarter, the Tigers benefitted from explosive plays on offense and a dominating defensive effort to improve to 2-0 on the season.
Bridgeport, which dropped to 0-2, played without junior quarterback Nik Weibert after he suffered a concussion in a season- opening loss to North Platte St. Patrick’s.The Bulldogs also were without sophomore standout Landon Dean for much of Friday’s contest after he left with an injury in the first half. It’s hopeful bothWeibert and Dean will be back on the field for this week’s game against Sandhills Valley.
