The impressive start to the season by the Bridgeport volleyball team continued last week as the Bulldogs netted two wins against Western Trails Conference opponents. Playing in the Mitchell triangular last Tuesday, Bridgeport managed to sweep the host Tigers 25-13, 25-20 and outlasted Gordon-Rushville 2517, 24-26, 25-23.
In the victory over Mitchell, balanced hitting from Tacey From, Kendal Deaver and Jailyn Nichols powered the Bulldog offense. All three hitters put down six kills each. Aubrey Watts set the table nicely by dishing out 17 assists from her setter’s position.
The Bulldogs also enjoyed a strong serving attack. Kelsie McVicker served a team-high 11 points. From followed with nine points and Nichols served four. McVicker and Nichols both served three aces, while From added a pair.
