Change to city code regarding delinquent utility customers adopted
The Bridgeport City Council held a budget hearing September 11 prior to the regular meeting. They adopted the budget and set the property tax request at $429,797.42.This is a three percent increase from the current budget, but results in a 13 percent decrease in the mil levy from the 2023-2024 tax rate.
The council also adopted a resolution to allow the city to exceed the statutory two and one half percent limit by up to an additional one percent.
