After a bit of a slow start to the season, the Bridgeport football team has officially shifted into a higher gear.The Bulldogs blew past Kimball 56-20 last Friday night to capture their third straight victory to improve to 3-2. The win also moved Bridgeport to 2-0 in district play. Since moving to 8-man two years ago, the Bulldogs are undefeated against district competition.
Bridgeport’s talent, athleticism, and size was no match for Kimball, which once was a powerful opponent on the schedule every year.The Bulldogs led 44-0 at halftime to force a running clock in the second half.
Nik Weibert once again led the Bulldogs with another sparkling performance.The junior signal caller completed 7 of his 9 passes for 128 yards and four touchdowns. He tossed a pair of touchdowns each to Gage Nein and Logan Levick.
