After polishing off the regular season with a 43-0 shutout of Sutherland Friday night, the Bridgeport football team earned the right to host a Class D-1 state playoff game for the second straight year.
The Bulldogs, who improved to 6-2 with their sixth straight win, will welcome the Ravenna Bluejays to town for a first-round game today at 4 p.m. Ravenna also enters the postseason with a 6-2 record. It will mark the first postseason meeting on the gridiron between the schools.They met in a qualifying game for the playoffs back in 1997.
Bridgeport had little trouble in sinking the Sailors to extend its impressive winning streak.The Bulldogs raced out to a 35-0 lead at halftime, which forced a running clock for the entire second half. The majority of the Bridgeport starters were held out for the final two quarters of play.
