A furious rally in the fourth quarter lifted the Bridgeport Bulldogs to a thrilling 34-30 win over Ravenna in the opening round of the Class D-1 state football playoffs last Thursday in Bridgeport.
Trailing by 10 going into the final period, the Bulldogs scored the final 14 points of the contest to advance into the second round. The win was Bridgeport’s seventh straight since opening the season 0-2.
“It’s really a credit to the kids and what they do,” Bridgeport coach Jeremy Reimers said after the victory. “They attacked that fourth quarter with no fear in my opinion. Kids made plays and we got the stops when we needed to.”
