On the same field where it began, the Bridgeport Bulldogs’ football season came to an end in a Class D-1 playoff loss to North Platte St. Patrick’s last Friday night in North Platte.
The Irish (9-1), who prevailed in the season opener by a score of 21-8, controlled the rematch throughout as they advanced to the quarterfinals with a 55-8 victory over the Bulldogs. They will next face defending state champion Stanton.
Bridgeport, which was making its second straight appearance in the second round of the playoffs, concluded its season with a final record of 7-3.
